Brown Sugar

The question most asked in one of my favorite movies of all time Brown Sugar is when is the first time you fell in love with Hip Hop? Well this post doesn't neccesarily have to do with the first time I fell in love with hip hop but it has to do with underground music because when I listen to underground artists I feel like i've fell in love with hip hop all over again The thing about underground artists is that their pure raw talent and they have this drive like no other. Underground artists put their passion and emotion into their music and I Love it when somebody can tap into the way I feel or change my mood drastically through a song. Thats one of the reasons I fell in love with music in the first place. I'm not really to fond of mainstream music anymore because it seems like once a lot of artists get signed they lose sight of what they were doing music for and thats the LOVE. They get caught up in the materialistic lifestyle and start rapping about topics they knew absolutely nothing about b4 they became famous. Can't really say its their fault in particular especially when record execs start telling them how to be them but thats a whole different story. Anywho enough of my rambling Here are some of the artists that I've discovered overtime or recently and have in rotation in my headphones.

(Been on him since he left young money and started dropping tape after tape. I feel like he could be my big brother or some shii kuz he's just in to fly shii.)

(also into the fly shii I stumbled upon him on youtube and been on him since flight school crazy part about it is after I discovered him is when him and Curren$y started collabing)

Wale
(1st album I went out and actually copped since Kanye dropped graduation sheesh thats been 2 whole years since *Not Really Underground but not too many people know about him or f'k w/ him*)

Holiday Season

Thank God I get 3 weeks of from Carson High School low-key tired of that place but the most important part is I get to sleep in! WOOT WOOT! Anyways Christmas is around the corner I don't really have any spirit this year but I am ready for it though. I have a feeling it should be a blessed Christmas even though i'm not asking for much i'm going to cherish the things I do have. My Family, Friends, and a pot to piss in(just a figure of speech lol) oh and my health. I've realized the older people get the less they start to want. Holidays and festivities are more for the younger age-group. Another thing i've realized though is that when you start doing good deeds for people good things start to come your way. Anyways there's been so much going on in my personal life and i'm actually really proud of myself because with all the things going on in my personal life I feel like i've learned to balance my personal life and my educational life seperately and not let one get in the way of the other. I got my report card back today and I recieved 3B's and 2A's and even though thats good I won't be satisfied until I get straight A's now I know what Asian, African and Nigerian parents feel like -_- lol I've also gotten excepted into my first college last week so blessings seem like they've already been coming way. I've also finally gotten a Guitar Hero(technically Rock Band 2). It would be the best Christmas ever if I get my license i'd be like this =D which I think i'm taking on Thursday after my third session of behind the wheel training. Wish me luck. Oh yeah and i'm ready for Christmas Missions even if I have to do them myself. I've been learning my train stations and my streets which is a huge step for me because when it came to street-smarts(as far as a sense of direction) I had none. I guess some people just pick up on that in life as a child or are taught that but I never was and I never payed attention to the street signs I was always just someone who enjoyed the ride or went to sleep(which was a negative fault on my behalf). I tell my friends no one ever taught me to do that and they look at me like i'm just crazy lol but whatever though i'm putting myself on game now along with a small bit of help from them. I was studying the stops of the metros on the internet and they have some interesting histories especially the red-line. But yeah now I just need to learn which buses to catch i'm only familiar with the carson circuit and somewhat the torrance transit. Oh yeah and for the first time ever I put up some Christmas lights yayy me! lol

Friends Drift Like Waves in the Water

I've noticed that no matter how close you are to a friend and no matter how long you've known them by the time highschool hits or afterwards you just simply drift apart no matter what. It may not be that it happened intentionally sometimes it just happens, sometimes it could be over who your friend is dating, and sometimes it ends with argument either way it goes I hate to say it but most people even best friends just simply drift apart. When it first happened with my crew I didn't know how to handle it so what I did was try to prevent it from happening but what I've learned was you can't force the changes that happen in life to not change they will happen anyway and trying to prevent will only waste time cause things to end up worse in the end. Time to beware of drifting friendships: Senior Year of Highschool, College or after highschool, and even as an adult. Friends usually start drifting around these times because this is when people like to really start trying new things and the new things come along with being with new people then eventually you and these new people start hanging and they won't forget about their old friends but they just aren't around them as much. Could also be because your friend may have left you hanging or the other friend might get jealous because you're spending less time with them and they start feeling like they're being replaced. My advice for this is that if you know that is you best friend there is no need to lete jealousy come in the picture because you should know your role in that persons life and know you can never be replaced but you should also have this understanding that no matter how far apart you are from that person even if they start changing thats always going to be your best friend but life changings peoples mind frames as they start to grow up. Two years ago I was too young to understand this but now I get it. This week has been one of the craziest weeks and I've heard and whitnessed several situations of friends drifting. My advice to you guys is accept it. It will be natural for you to be sad, mad, even jealous about (just don't let jealousy take over your actions), and you will even look back at an old picture of you and your friend or you and your crew and be like damn we used to be super close what happened to us and my answer to that would be growth as people.

P.S. Sometimes it might not be growth but that so called friend may have betray you or have done you very grimey in a situation watch out for that and watch out for "Fakes" ya'll
